Senior Enlisted Leader
Sergeant First Class Andrew S. Procter is a native of Tyler, Texas, who enlisted in the Army in July 2005 after earning his certification as a paramedic. He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia, and began his military career as an infantryman (11B).
While serving at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, SFC Procter deployed to the Al Anbar Province of Iraq with the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division. He completed his training as a Health Care Specialist (68W) in May 2009 and subsequently served as Forward Aid Station NCOIC in Baghdad, Iraq, with the 5-7 Cavalry Squadron, 3rd Infantry Division. SFC Procter served as Team Sergeant with Special Operations Medical Detachment, Resuscitation Team-C, in South Sudan and the Central African Republic. He was then selected to deploy in support of First Special Forces Group to the Southern Philippines where he served as a team medic. He also served as a civil affairs medical sergeant at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with the 95th Civil Affairs Brigade (Airborne), deploying to Peru, Guyana, and Kenya.
At the U.S. Army Medical Center of Excellence, SFC Procter served as NCOIC for the Strategic Trauma Training Course, validating Forward Surgical Teams for deployment, and worked as the clinical coordinator for the Combat Paramedic Program. Prior to assuming his current position at Fort Detrick, SFC Procter served as Senior Healthcare NCO at the Military Freefall School, Yuma Proving Ground, Arizona.
SFC Procter's military and civilian education includes Airborne School; Combatives Level 1; Brigade Combat Team Trauma Training Course; Operational & Emergency Medical Skills Course; Warrior Leaders Course; Special Operations Combat Medic; Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape Course; Joint Enroute Care Course; Advanced Leaders Course; SOF Situational Awareness Training; Mobile Force Protection; Senior Leaders Course; Special Operations Civil Affairs Medical Sergeants Course; Health Services Plans, Operations, Intelligence, Security and Training Course; and Force Management Training.
