Mission:
Develop, procure, deliver, support, and modernize deployable medical capabilities for hospitalization, treatment and evacuation, and health, prevention, and logistics.
Overview:
As the largest Project Management Office in the DoD, SMD is responsible for developing and fielding medical products for Army and Joint units worldwide. We provide acquisition lifecycle management for over 250 medical equipment Lined Item Numbers and over 125 sets, kits and outfits to support human and military working dog care. Army medical functional areas supported include Hospitalization, Medical Laboratory Services, Medical Logistics, Dental Services, Preventive Medicine, MEDEVAC, and Veterinary Services.

- Agitator and Incubator, Blood Platelet Storage
two instruments employed in tandem in blood bank sets; provide safe, temperature controlled storage of platelets in a smaller footprint. - AED
color Electrocardiogram displays the patient's heart rate, waveform, number of shocks delivered, and elapsed rescue time; can escalate energy to deliver therapy at a higher level when necessary. - Human Ultrasound
portable diagnostic capability; critical for clinical imaging, diagnosis, and timely treatment of Warfighters. - Portable Automatic Enhanced Resuscitator-Ventway Sparrow
compact device providing hands-free resuscitation; can be quickly deployed in a pre-hospital environment by personnel with limited medical training. - Monitor, Patient Vital Signs
