Medical Product Research and Development Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Award

One of the Key Performance Parameters for many of our medical products at USAMMDA is U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approval. Moving medical products through the FDA is a process - it is lengthy and time consuming. It is our mission to develop and deliver quality medical solutions to protect, treat, and sustain the health of our Service Members. Therefore, we strive to deliver these medical solutions as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Earlier this month, as part of a larger MRMC effort, USAMMDA participated in a kickoff event to streamline the medical acquisition process through the implementation of the Medical Product Research and Development Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity award (IDIQ). This vehicle brings together contracting and program management professionals to develop a contracting mechanism addressing:

  • Research and Development
  • Manufacturing
  • FDA Clearance/Approval
  • Documentation of Our Medical Acquisition Programs

The IDIQ includes four contracts awarded to industry partners to develop drugs, vaccines, biologics and other military-relevant medical products in a way that will save time, money and resources.

This has been a team effort and is a huge accomplishment for MRMC, USAMMDA, USAMMA and USAMRAA.
